The Olive Tree Restaurant
The Olive Tree Restaurant offers a calm, candlelit setting ideal for evening meals and special occasions. Our skilled kitchen team prepares every dish to order, using quality seasonal ingredients whenever possible. Choose from our à la carte menu, grill options, and rotating blackboard specials.
Located within the Durrant House Hotel in Northam, just outside Bideford and a short drive from Appledore, Instow, and Westward Ho! The Olive Tree is open to both hotel guests and local diners. It’s a popular choice for romantic meals, family gatherings, and quiet evening dining in North Devon.

The Appledore Bar
The Appledore Bar provides a relaxed setting to enjoy drinks, light bites, and informal meals from midday until evening. With cosy seating and a friendly atmosphere, it’s a great place to unwind after a day of exploring.
Choose from a selection of lighter dishes, bar snacks, and a wide range of drinks, including local ales, classic cocktails, wines, and spirits. Well-behaved dogs are welcome in the bar area.
Afternoon Tea
Treat yourself to a traditional Afternoon Tea, available all day and served in our bar, restaurant or lounge areas. You’ll enjoy freshly prepared finger sandwiches, savoury bites, homemade cakes, plain scones with strawberry jam, and Devon clotted cream, all served with your choice of tea or coffee from our afternoon menu.
